Winter FUN in New Hampshire!
Ice Sailing in Central New Hampshire
Here's to the "hard water sailors". Before there were automobiles, goods to lake islands were transported over the ice on boats fitted with sled runners.
Today this task has turned to play and ice sailing is one of the most exhilarating winter sports in New Hampshire. Sailing at speeds upward of 100 miles per hour one feels like the very wind that propels.
Check out these locations for ice sailing: Lake Massabesic, Lake Sunapee, Lake Wentworth at Wentworth State Park and Lake Winipesaukee at Ellacoya Sate Park and Brewster Beach in Wolfeboro. Ask the locals about their knowledge.
